Thanks to its generosity and belief in Home-Start High Peak, the National Lottery has given us enough funding to operate for the coming financial year. This will allow us to continue to support families in the High Peak, whilst exploring further additional funding options to secure our longer-term future.
We have had to make some tough decisions though and there is some sad news to report. As a scheme, in order to continue with the Lottery’s funding, we have had to consider and implement a new structure to reflect the finances we will have. The scheme will be going forward but as a one-person venture, in what’s known in Home-Start terms as a Lone Coordinator scheme. And that unfortunately means redundancies among the staff.
After a lengthy period of consultation and searches for alternative posts, our two coordinators have sadly left their posts. After reapplying for the role, Anthea Murfin has been successful in securing the job of Lone Coordinator, effective from 1 April 2016, which at least ensures some consistency for families, volunteers, referrers and funders.
